A pressure sensor is a device that senses pressure and converts it into an electric signal where the amount depends upon the pressure applied. TESS designs and manufactures pressure sensors ranging from the sensing element to system packaging for harsh environments. We are an industry leader for our range of both standard and custom pressure sensors, from board level components to fully amplified and packaged transducers. Based on piezoresistive Micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and silicon strain gauge (Microfused, Krystal Bond) technology, our sensors measure everything from inches of water column (<5 mbar) to 100K psi (7K bar). Sophisticated design and advanced manufacturing techniques create reliable, cost-effective solutions for medical, HVACR, off-road, heavy equipment, hazardous locations, and general industrial applications. We manufacture one of the world’s lowest power and smallest package pressure sensors for altimeter/NAV applications. Our sensors are signal conditioned, calibrated over temperature and include digital or analog outputs.

The M3200 pressure transducer from the Microfused line of TE is suitable for measurement of liquid or gas pressure, even for difficult media such as contaminated water, steam, and mildly corrosive fluids.

The transducer pressure cavity is machined from a solid piece of 17-4PH stainless steel. The standard version includes a 1/4 NPT pipe thread allowing a leak-proof, all metal sealed system. With excellent durability, there are no O-rings, welds or organics exposed to the pressure media.

TE's proprietary Microfused technology, derived from demanding aerospace applications, employs micromachined silicon piezoresistive strain gages fused with high temperature glass to a stainless-steel diaphragm. This approach achieves media compatibility simply and elegantly while providing an exceptionally stable sensor without the PN junctions of conventional micromachined sensors.
