PerkinElmer\'s new LED Fiber Optic Illuminator couples high intensity LED white light into fiber optic bundles for applications including microscopy, machine vision and inspection systems. It offers an energy-efficient, maintenance-free alternative to halogen and metal-halide fiber optic illuminators.The LED source is comprised of high-power white LEDs, patent-pending optics to precisely couple light into fiber optics, heat sink and fan, linear light intensity control,and AC power supply. It has been designed to couple light into 3 -10 mm fiber.

PerkinElmer\'s LED light engine provides high intensity light from the distal end of a fiber optic bundle and offers a low heat, low voltage alternative to 150-watt halogenbased fiber optic illuminators. Unlike incandescent bulbs, the color temperature of PerkinElmer\'s LED light does not change over time or when the light is dimmed,resulting in more consistent visual appearance.

PerkinElmer also offers OEMs the optical subassembly, heat sink and dimming electronics for integration into the customer\'s own illuminator design. We provide the level of solutions integration that you require.
