Irish semiconductor design startup, Lightstorm Networks, has secured €5 million in first-round funding from Trinity Venture Capital and Delta Partners. Existing investors, Enterprise Ireland and the Western Development Commission, also invested in the company. The new funding will be used for company expansion and release of its first product in 2005.
Lightstorm provides a range of semiconductor solutions for the multi-service access network. Its technology provides systems manufacturers with the functionality to meet today\'s requirements for point-to-point packet transport over the optical network while having the flexibility to meet tomorrow\'s requirement for multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity.
