Weltrend Launches WT6617F Automotive-Grade USB PD Controller
Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 20, 2019 – Weltrend Semiconductor (TWSE: 2436) today announced the launched of WT6617F, the Company’s first AEC-Q100 qualified USB PD controller for automotive-grade performance designed for automotive USB Type-C power source applications such as seat chargers, infotainment unit chargers, and etc.
The WT6617F minimizes external components by integrating USB PD baseband PHY, Type-C detection, shunt regulator, voltage and current monitors, NMOS load switch driver and an 8-bit MCU to allow small form factor and low BOM cost. Wide operation voltage range (3V to 24V) supports PD 3.0 Programmable Power Supply (PPS) specification. A Multi-Time-Programmable (MTP) ROM is provided for program code and user configuration data.
